FlexBand Programs
We provide a unique exercise, therapy and sports training discipline at D-MPT that few other physical therapy practices offer. It features the use of FlexBand® exercise equipment to help active individuals and athletes improve speed, flexibility, foot quickness, and coordination skills.
Developed in 1980 by Dick Hartzell, a well-known area coach, it has provided therapeutic exercise to help shorten downtime from sprains and strains from weeks and months to literally hours or days.
FlexBand® training programs are in use by pro teams in all major sports, as well as by U.S. military and tactical units across the country. High school, junior high and college athletic programs also use this training to strengthen ankles, hamstrings and shoulders, to minimize injuries. It is also part of the medical arsenal of recuperation strategies at major hospitals in Ohio, the northeastern U.S., and even in South Africa.
This innovative method is also a proven therapy aid, used by D-MPT to help patients with pain in backs, hips, knees, and necks, and to recuperate faster after various surgeries or to help avoid them altogether.
Our Austintown office is located next to and connected with the Jump Stretch Fitness Center, where athletes from all over the Youngstown area come to train.
